Can I switch feed

My chickens are 16 weeks can I switch them to layer pellets I really don’t want to have to get more chick starter since it is so close for them to start laying and I am going to be on vacation the week they start laying

I switched mine at about 14-15 weeks, though I use all flock and oyster shell rather than layer feed. They took to it right away.

Should you? No. Layer is for actively laying hens.
Can you? Yes. They won't die.

When I have transitioned feed types, I've been advised to mix the old and the new for about a week or two, just to get them acclimated to the new. Their tummies are sensitive.
