Can I take my chickens to a normal vetrinarians office?

When my mom had a pet squirrel, the local vet was able to recommend the vet who sees the zoo animals in the nearest big city. I bet a zoo vet would do well with chickens.

I managed to find an Avian vet here in Houston that also absolutely loves chickens. I wasn't looking for a chicken vet, I was looking for one for my cockatiels. What a pleasant surprise when I went into the exam room and saw all the chicken pictures! So if I'm in there with one of my house birds, I ask her about the chickens if I need to for advice, because she does know quite a bit about them. I don't think I'd ever actually take one to the vet though.
