can i use de for the chicks

this weekend i am moving my 2 week old chicks out to their coop with a heat lamp. so im wondering if i should put some de under the bedding or is it to yearly for them, and if it is what age should i?

we're using DE around our chicks that are 5 weeks old, and my silkies have been around DE since they were about 2 weeks
