Can I use fresh sawdust for litter in my chicken house?

We have a sawmill down the road where I can get LOTS of sawdust. I seem to remember something about fresh oak sawdust not being good for litter. Any ideas?

Its not a good idea to use sawdust because of the dust. It makes it hard to breathe. Shavings make a good litter. Some people use dirt.

i use wood shavings... untreated of course.. i wouldnt use sawdust...all the dust particles gets into thier lungs.
