Can I use shredded paper as duckling bedding?

I have HEAPS of shredded paper and was wondering if I could use it for my ducklings that are hatching in 3 days?

This would be a good question to post in the duck forum. However, from what I have read it is too slippery. Plus, I used it in the past for guinea pigs and it needs changed very frequently.
