Can I use weed and feed???

So I wanted to give my yard some TLC but wasn't sure if weed & feed was okay around chickens. They free range almost all day. I can lock them up in their run if I have to but they get cranky lol. Any suggestions??

I don't use weed n feed but do use regular fertilizer. Even then, I keep girls ( my chickens ) off until after a good soaking rain. I have weeds in my lawn, but thats life. A healthy well growing grass lawn seem to crowd out the weeds to a tolerable state. I mow often. Read the ingredients on your bag and you will see that the killer is in very small percentage.. STUFF IS POTENT

Most herbicides will have a rating for how long after application it is safe for animal consumption. For example 2,4d is about 25 days. Check the ingredients and then do a little work on 'the Google'

I avoid weed killers if at all possible. 2,4d has been around for a long time, and is implicated in canine cancers, and possibly human cancers too. Anything green that comes up in my yard is appreciated, and mows just fine with the lawn mower. Mary

Iwouldnt use any weed killers around your chickens.
