Can i use wheat grain as feed

I got over 50 kilos of wheat grain from a friend who has a mill and he gave me the leftovers.My question is can i use it as a substitute for normal feed? the chickens get kitchen scraps everyday,they have a big 15 acres yard to run around and eat grass,bugs...all sorts of things.

I had someone give me a bag of barley and I've been mixing it with scratch, but they don't really seem that into eating it.
