Hi,I have a fully grown oeg bantam roo that I got from this person.I also got a very old hen from the same person and I hoped she would naturaly incubate some eggs for me but sadly she got killed by a coon. Now I just have the roo but he likes to hang with the ducks right now so hes not lonely.I also have 9 3 week old babie chicks in my basement.7 are standard and 2 are bantams.I have two questions, how old do I let these chicks in a coop, and can a bantam oeg roo handle all these girls?

A rooster will do fine with about 10 girls. In fact, that's around the recommended number of hens per rooster (10-12 hens for each rooster in your flock).

What breed are the chicks?

when adding chicks they should be same size!

as for your roo handling all the girls do you mean protecing or breeding?

He should protect all!

breeding- most roos will pick favorites (unless he is put in pen at sheduled times

Well I have 1 lakenvelder,2 black austrolorps,1 polish bantam,1 white black tipped chinese bantam,3 golden phoenixes, and 1 blue adulsion.I just want to know that he will not be beat up by them, and if he can mate with the standards.Hes a really sweet roo when I got him 1 month ago he came with a old hen and he was very sweet to her.I dont think there will be any aggression on his part but im just worried the hens will like to pick on him.

I dont think the girls will pick on him and i'm not expierenced in this area but i did see a post some where that stated about a 50 percent fertility rate with a banty roo and standard hen.hope this helps.

I had a flock of 25 golden sex link long ago and a dominant hen starting mounting the other hens,

so I decided to get a rooster to stop that weird behavior. I had a hard time finding a standard roo, so I decided to get a banty roo. At first the dominant hen and other high in the pecking order try fought with him like anther roo, but the banty prevailed. Later on I saw him mounting several hens. When a friend of mine got a incubator I asked her to test some of the eggs of my flock to see how many were fertile. Out of 24 I gave her 20 were fertile. It was a random selection. Banties roos are really active. Good luck with your roo.

What size would the offspring be? Would they be banty or standard or something in between size. I had never though about it.
