SloCrevs has arrived. Thank you for the into Buff! Crevecoeurs are awesome, I love them. They are beautiful all-black birds. Beards, muffs, and crests. They have 4 toes, and lay medium sized white eggs(and for some reason all mine are nearly a perfect oval). They are somewhat stand-offish. They mix well in a flock together, and are very social when it comes to other birds. My oldest hen-Pepper, was used in showmanship(by me) and I won 3 best of shows with her, but it took a long time to get her to that point. Lots of days of just carrying her around doing chores. And treats...lots of treats. They're fun to look at and they have great personalities, but they aren't really pick me up and cuddle-chickens. They withstand the cold pretty well, and confinement as well(don't listen to mypetchicken when it comes to these things). I have Pepper in with a bunch of bantams and she does really well. They are not very good egg layers, I get maybe 1 egg every 3 or 4 days. She also took a bit longer to lay as well. Do you have any questions that I have not addressed?
