We recently gave some fertilized eggs to two broody hens. The chicks all hatched at the same time and are now about two weeks old. I would like to allow both mothers, with chicks, to roam a bit in an enclosed pen. Is is safe to assume that two new mothers will occupy the same area without causing chaos? In other words, can mother hens be allowed to be in the same area without worrying that they will attack or hurt each other's chicks? This would only be during the daytime.

You can't count on the hens tolerating each others chicks. They usually only are focused on their own. I think at the very least, it would cause the hens stress to have to deal with the "others" and at the worst, the chicks may be hurt/killed by their non-moms.
