Can peafowl eat the same foods as chickens?

No, they need food more rich in protein than what chickens often get. Scratch grain in particular is not good for them.

Whole grains are much better for them than soy products along with good animal by products for added protein. Unfortunately, the industry standard is soy which is ok for fat birds but not for lean healthy peafowl that do need a higher protein feed but less of it.

That's why I feed Friskies Surf and Turf cat food as a supplement. It's got poultry, seafood, and some red meat in it. Makes for a good balance in the protein department.
