Cotturnix quail do roost... During the day. They sleep on the ground at night.

Quail are ground birds, so perching is not natural to them.

I’ve seen mine stand on sticks, their toes look to be wrapped around, but the sticks are pretty wide, so I don’t know if it is perching or really just standing.
