Can she be broody but not laying?

I have 5 muscovys-one drake & 4 ducks. One of the ducks, Bandit, has always kept herself a little apart from the others but in the last few days she has been acting broody, slow to leave the duck house in the morning, then finds somewhere to sit and stays there very quiet. One of the other ducks is laying (anywhere-they roam around the garden) and I assumed Bandit was going to start, but when we move her there are no eggs. Is it possible for her to be broody because the other duck is laying? I don't want ducklings, but more than that I am worried that she might be ill. She is my favourite duck and would hate to see anything bad happen.

How old is Bandit has she laid eggs before?Usually they go broody after they start to lay my Muscovy's do anyway but even 1 or 2 eggs can set the broody hormone going. How is she other wise eating and drinking normal? I'd be concerned too especially if she has laid an egg yet but she maybe going to any day. So keep and eye on her make sure her vent looks clean, no discharge white or other wise. maybe give her some inside warm water soaks sometimes if they have an egg stuck floating in warm water will help them relax enough to get it laid.
