Can someone help?

So I found this bird in my yard today. It was resting on the middle section of my fence and didn't try to run away. Let me pick him up and everything. But I have no idea what it is. I posted in another section and I was told a pheasant of some kind. My neighbors keep chickens and I've seen random hens and roosters who wonder around. But I have never seen something like this. Any help is greatly appreciated! We had just finished building a chicken run/coop this morning so he's hanging out in there for now, some of the neighborhood kids aren't the best and I want to keep it safe.

That's a male yellow golden pheasant.

That is amazing how many people find pheasants. Hope you keep him they are great. Try whistling to him and most time they respond or mine do anyways.

He is the cutest thing ever! One of my neighbors said they saw someone toss him over my fence yesterday. So it looks like he is going to stay. The coop we built was intended for chickens but everything I've read today says they can't be kept together. Now I have to set up something for this cool pheasant thank you everyone for your help.

Yeah i dont see why not ive heard that ringnecks breed with chickens so you may have some golden chickens

Depending on your space the easiest is buy a large dog kennel run place wire around it and the top. Most of the time you can find some in the newspaper for pretty cheap but if you cant Home Depot or Lowes or your feed store will carry them.
