So here's the thing recently I got some new chicks and being me, I absentmindedly put them in the coop without checking for mites and now they all have them. However not many mites and they (the mites) seemed to stay on the back of all my chickens as opposed to tales I've heard of where the mites spread to the vent area etc.
As for the identification, I can't get any pictures cause the little mite things move too quickly. So I will describe them: the biggest one I saw was 2mm long and was the colour of a goldeny brown cookie. The head and the body were clearly distinguished and they have a irregular black line down their back (the line looked like it was inside the bug so I assumed it was blood)
Finally if anyone can suggest how to get rid of them off the chickens it would be much appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance!
