I have some duck eggs that are very close to hatching based on how they look when candled...don't know the actual incubation start date... this morning one wasn't smelling right and there is also no internal pip...I opened the big end of the shell a little to try a be sure if it died but I'm still not sure...the membrane is intact...I can tell that the yolk isn't fully absorbed but the blood is getting dark....I can't see any movement...what do you think? if I didn't kill it can it survive? or do you think it's dead? I wrapped it in a damp paper towel and put it back into the incubator
