can the humidity in my house be 1%

or do i need to calibrate my incubators humidity reader... i live in los angeles and when i opened the bator the humidity said 1% but that cant be right..... can u guys help me....

anyhow, i have no idea how to calculate that. i'd just put the hygrometer right in the incubator. keep the humidity on the inside of the 'bator between 35-40%

Calibrate your hygrometer!

Here is how....
Need a coffee mug, salt, water and large ziplock freezer bag.

Put 1/2 cup table salt in mug
Add 1/4 cup water, mix together (will get wet sand consistancy)
put cup in bag
put hygrometer in bag (don't get any salt water on it )
Seal bag leave for 8-12 hours.
It should read 75%
