Can my chickens eat potato plants? Not the potato the roots that we eat........ The leaves and stem that stick and grow out of the ground!!!!!!!!Because i can grow almost any kind of plant really good....especially potatoes...........................So are they safe to eat for y chickens?

Chickens shouldn't eat plants from the family Solanaceae (e.g. potatoes, tomatoes, peppers). It probably won't kill them if they eat some, but I wouldn't feed it to them. My chickens are constantly around the garden and have full access to tomato and potato plants. I see that they occasionally eat them, but they're not something the chickens like. I also haven't seen any ill effects on them, so I don't worry about it. Of course, my birds have lots of other things to eat too. They would eat all of my pepper plants if I let them, they are one of their favorite greens.
