Can you all help me make a BIG decision?!?

I can't tell on my screen if that is a second Cockatiel or not. It might be a cuttlebone if I'm looking at the right thing in the correct picture. I vote #1 all the way. The Jenday and Sun conures are very loud birds and I think much messier than Cockatiels. The Conures seem to like to Poop outside their cages alot...clinging to the bars and then...letting it go - everywhere. I couldn't view the second link - CL indicated it had be flagged.

Let us know what you decide - some good advice was given here about making sure the birds were healthy. If you have other birds already. Pls. keep the new bird away from them for a least 30 days - in case they are ill.

I have had all three of these birds before moving on to a double yellow head, 2 VosMarei Eclectus and a Greenwing macaw.
The first one is a beauty but the sun conured (yes a bit louder) is such a cool bird. I use to have one that road around in my sweatshirt hood to help feed the others. Saying "eat your dinner". She was so personable. I personally (this is me) don't judge a bird by the mess they make. Birds will be birds and if you don't have paper down for a bird you let out .. well there is going to be poop on the floor or carpet. I did not get to see bird 2 as they have removed it from craigslist.
I vote 3.. let us know what YOU have decided on.

I gave a lot of input earlier about the cockatiel. Just a note of interest. After some training, we were able to train our first cockatiel to poop in the trashcan. We were able to figure out when he had to go, then he got a quick trip to the can. Of course if you weren't watching, you missed his signals and had a mess to clean up.

Our tiel would puff up a little, and as I recall, he'd move his tail a certain way. Maybe every bird is different, but I think we just noticed he always did the same thing when he had to go, so we'd start holding him over a trashcan when we saw his "signal". He was pretty accurate if we got him there quick enough. He was our first cockatiel "Sunny." He died some time ago.

Ok, well I made a decision! I think I want the Conure

. I have done alot of research, and I feel like it is the best bird for me. What do yall think would be the minimum size cage, so I dont buy to small of a cage? Now I got to get my parents to agree to get it and keep it inside!

The largest one you can afford. Nothing smaller than a 30" cube. Horizontal is much better than vertical. He may like to sleep in a little cozy. Mine used to sleep on his back in his. Enjoy.
