I am an absolute newbie when it comes to chickens, and our neighbor gave us three to start. They told us what one of them was, a cross between Rhode Island Red and another, but I have no idea about the others. After trying to find the answer online, I believe I know when the hen is, but still no idea on the rooster. Here they are:
The black hen lays blue/green eggs (apparently, and she has yet to lay one for me...) so after researching, I believe she is an Ameraucana. Does that seem right? As for the rooster, any guesses? He is smaller then both hens, and pretty darn nice (as in he hasn't tried to peck me, even when my three year old let him out of the coop, and I had to catch him before my dog did) and has super feather feet.
