Hey I have an Ancona rooster and two isa brown hens and was wondering if you where able to breed those two kinds together if you would like photos of them just tell me

You can cross any breed of chicken with any other breed, although in rare cases there are lethal genes that can cause embryo mortality in a portion the the eggs ( "dumpy" and rumpless breeds, for example). But unless you are working on a specific project with defined goals, all you are making is mutts--with which there is nothing wrong. Have fun!

Yep. Chickens are chickens, much like dogs are dogs. In theory even a chihuahua could breed with a great dane if they have a tall enough stool. Similarly you can cross almost any type of chicken but you might have serious physical challenges crossing chickens of dramatically different size but genetically they're the same species.

And sometimes lethal genes show up.

But most of it just is what it is. Breed whatever together and get mutt chickens. Just have a plan for the offspring and remember that roosters are hard to rehome.

Thanks for the reply luckily we do live on a farm so space will be no problem with keeping the rooster until we find them a suitable home

Crossing ISA Browns with Ancona will yield 50% white chicks with a few black spots, those will grow to be mostly white with red on hackle, the other 50% will be black as chicks but when grown will look like gold/red birchen like marans, the F1 hens will lay cream colored eggs
