Can you breed sex links?

I have crossed my Cinnamon Queens and also my Black Sex links to my RIR rooster and they make beautiful healthy chicks.
The only thing is, they aren't "sex links" any more... all chicks are different colors, not color linked to sex like their mothers.
I'll try to find a pic for you to see.

They'll make a bunch of mystery mutts who lay brown eggs. Sex-links are mutts themselves, so it won't be any different, except they won't be sexed by their colors.
Here's my big boy RJ with his sex-link girls. RJ's mom was a black sex-link, and his dad was an RIR. He is HUGE. He'd probably put the turkey we ate at Thanksgiving to shame, LOL.

Might I make a suggestion?

If you are going to get into breeding (which takes some time and energy) why not breed and keep one of the rarer breeds that is on the verge of extinction. I'm always on the lookout for serious breeders of rare breeds. Just a suggestion. saladin

Yes you sure can and most prolly the roo won't object to it either knowing how most roos hormones are ususally on a rampage.

Seriously, yeah and you can sure bet you'll end up with some very interesting combos too. Now don't expect to get color sexable chicks out of the cross as the color sex-linkable trait is only good for the F1 cross of the parentstock which are hybrids developed by crossing two different breeds. This what it means when you hear or read they don't breed true, that is to type.
