Can you feed your chickens peanut shells?

They likely wouldn't eat them unless there's a lot of peanut fragments still inside. They're very fibrous and have little food value.
 
They make great litter. We used them for years until they becaqme too expensive for such use. I assume they found a better, more profitable, use for them. A little dusty when first put down.
