Can you fry a rooster older than a year?

From what I understand rooster meat is much tougher than that of a hen and has more dark meat almost like duck.

And it is best if you roast an older rooster rather than fry it or use any other quick cooking technique.

But I am wondering if it is possible to fry an older rooster like how you would fry a young hen and have it be tender without using too much meat tenderizer.

Depending upon how old 'older' is, I feel that the best way to cook a rooster is to crock pot him or slow cook for an extended period of time.

You could also use him as a soup... or boil in the bag method..

I don't think it would work. There's a reason Grandma used young cockerels for fryers. Older birds don't do well with the high heat.
