From my understanding (and Sonoran will correct me if I am wrong) mille fleur is a recessive gene. It will often show up a little on the immature juvenile plumage but should not show up in the adult plumage. Expect it to disappear in the final adult plumage. You need both parents to have the mille fleur gene for their offspring to express it in the adult plumage.

I did not think mille fleur was a recognized pattern in either Cochin or Wyandotte, though I am not real familiar with Cochin. Any possibility that either or both parents were not pure?
