Hello all! These chickens are gonna run me into the poor house!
barnie.gif
38 running loose (couped at night...), Ivory (my white cochin bantam) tending to 6 peeps, 2 in the house (under high-value supervision...), another 35 on their way from the hatchery... = 81! But, who's counting? Anyway, as you will all agree these birds become family really quick. I'm amazed at their personalities. I know what all my birds are (i think...) except for a couple of exceptions. Maybe you can tell me what you think they are? I know the rooster (Rusty) is a cochin, but of what type or mix? The other (Ms. Pris), I don't have a clue? Thanks!

I've seen a red pyle frizzle, maybe if you iron it out Rusty could be a match? OEG... Haven't thought of that. I'll research. Thanks!

Hello Just wanted to confirm ...what is a OEG.....I also have a Ms Pris.....Mine is named Jacqueline after my MIL....she's my broody girl.....has hatched out girls twice her size for me....
She was given to me....

What does OEG stand for? You're asking? If so, Old English Game
Ms. Pris is wonderful. She's like royalty. She seems to have the respect of the whole flock, but she's the smallest one of them all. Go fig... No one messes with her. Dynamite comes in small packages. Ms. Pris has yet to go broody for me. However, those that have are my bantam cochin hens... What's up with those big egg layers not wanting to sit on em?

Ha ha ! Yes my Jacqueline is also the Queen of the flock and the smallest....I wanted to have some green egg layer hens so I bought some fertilized eggs and slipped them under her when she went broody last spring..She was a good mom....thanks for the information...Old English Game....My BIL and MIL brought 3 hens from my hubbies cousin in Quebec ....a RIR ,Plymouth Rock and now I know a OEG.....when I first started with all the girls....

I'm still not sure about the OEG. Trying to find a pic of an OEG that really mirrors her. You got one? She's a mix for sure. Just not positive about what with. I started with 8 laying hens (4 NHRs/4 Doms), 19 Wht Lghrns peeps, 3 NHR peeps. Head first! I found a lady that was over run with crazy chickens. You name it. She had it. I think her husband said, "get rid of some, NOW!" So, I got my first cochins and frizzles... They've proved to be quite comical.

Mine looks just like yours ..
..I am not computer savy...today my goal is to learn how to put up photo's etc...hopefully when my teenage son gets up ...its a snow day today!!! .....he'll help me..I HOPE!!!.and I'll post a photo.....
This past summer I had 10 hens ..and my hubby and son went fishin' for a week and came back to me having 20 hens....and he had the nerve to tell me"Ok this is not a hobby anymore...you have to start sellin' eggs !!"...I put the sign up that night...
Teach him for going fishin' !! ha ha !! Next time he goes fishin' I told him I'm going to get a goat !!! hee hee hee!!! Cant wait !!!

That little hen looks like a OEGB and Brahma mix to me...little too much feathering underneath and too much forward...but that is my total opinion!
