Can you help me ID my ducks?

We were told that these were Magpies when we bought them as ducklings. I have been researching the coloring on Magpies and I don't think that's what they are. Can anyone help me figure out what breed we have?

This is Einstein...we believe she is actually a he Einstein has started sporting some beautiful iridescent green plumage on his head and back. His chest has beautiful bronze black laced tipped feathers.


Einstein and Sunflower (we believe Sunflower is a female of the same breed as Einstein)


Sunflower again along with our Pekin, Sunny. Sunflower has the same bronze black laced tipped feathers on her chest as Einstein but she doesn't have any green plumage.

So can anyone tell me what breed Einstein and Sunflower are? Please keep in mind that these ducks are still juveniles and therefore don't have adult plumage yet. Thanks for your help!

Oh and if it helps any, my profile pic is of the ducks when they were babies. Einstein and Sunflower are the black and yellow and brown and yellow ones in the pic.

Magpies do come in blue and black, as well as silver and rarely chocolate but I'd say yours look more like swedish.

Magpies are lightweights so should weigh 4-6 lbs Swedish are medium weight so should weigh 6-8 lbs

It's possible that they are poorly marked magpies (over-marked), but more likely that they are Swedish, or Swedish mixes. Not really wonderful markings for Swedish, either, but they are very pretty ducks.

Unfortunately, the markings and bib for Swedish can be obtained in other breeds and other mixes, so a bib isn't 100% proof that a duck is a Swedish. They do have Swedish body type as well as the bib, so that would be my guess as to their breed.

Thank you!!! I just looked up images of Swedish ducks and ducklings and I am pretty sure that's what we have.

Thanks for your opinion too! We really only wanted ducks for eggs but these were straight run, so we'll see who we end up with.
