Can you help me with the breeds?

My son brought home 4 chicks from school and we have no idea what kind they are, I was hoping someone could help. We bought 2 the barred rock et RIR. Thanks for your help

Barred rock, maybe a Delaware. I think they might be mixed breeds.

I would say mixed. But there is for sure a barred rock in there. I bet they will be really pretty birds with all that barring on them.

Great thanks, Do you have any ideas about the chick in the first picture with the black breast, red back and white/yellow head. I was thinking Rhode Island Red but now not sure.

Looks a lot like a Rhode Island Red mix. This is our RIR at 3-4 weeks. But yours looks like it has a lighter head and more black feathers. Lots of people cross breed with RIR because they are great layers.

They are mixed breeds. You have three cockerels, and one I am leaning towards a cockerel on the fourth too (last photograph).
