Can you incubate chicks with a heat lamp

So I have started to incubate chicks and every morning I move the eggs and lift the heat lamp since it is hotter in my garage during the day. Then I go do my goats. After that, I check my temp in the box. Then at 4 in the afternoon, I roll them again and check the temp. Then right before bed, I roll the eggs again and lower the lamp. Is there any thing I am doing wrong, if so please tell me. we are on day 3.

It may work, but it is nearly impossible to maintain proper humidity and temperature with such a system. Good luck.

well, I have a humidifier right by the tub. Will that work?
