Can you incubate duck eggs found in water

Sounds like a good experiment to me. :D I've found eggs laid by my Runners in puddles, but haven't tried incubating them. I imagine the bloom affords some protection, but it would likely depend on how long the eggs were submerged. Best of luck!

I incubated a duck egg (from my ducks) last year that I found just out on the lawn. it was wet from morning dew and it was only about 2 degrees outside and I don’t know how long it was there for. but popped it into the incubator with other ones and it ended up being our first duckling of that group to hatch haha.
so i’d say give it a shot!
