Hello, we have an older golden red pheasant, (4-5 years) and his hen. We would like to have Quail as well.

Is it ok to keep them in the same space? Would the pheasant harass or attack them? He seems to be pretty mellow, usually ignoring the chickens that walk his fence line.

Will they coop together?

Any input would be appreciated.

I used to raise ringneck pheasants they would kill sparrows that tried to eat from the feeder. I noticed chickens also kill sparrows at the feeder. Some quail breeds don't get along with other quail breeds tenn. red quail would beat up on my coturnix quail & each other so I sold off the tenn. red quail.
Quail sure are more fun to raise than pheasants in my opinion.

Thanks. I had heard that Ringnecks are rather aggressive. Our Dude, doesnt seem to be, he sits and watches a chipmunk steal his food constantly, doesnt even bat an eye......

Are red goldens as aggressive as ringnecks?

Anyone?

I believe Ijohn raises coturnix with his pheasants. give him a pm
