Can you make a hen go broody?

Is there any trick to make a hen go broody? If a hen is broody can you move her without stopping her? I have ordered some eggs and would love to get one of my cochins to set them. But they don't show any signs yet. And if they do I need to move them to a safer place to hatch. They hatched some last year but something got them all, the chicks get out of the fence somehow. I'm building a small ultra safe coop for chicks. When they do set would you wait until they hatch to move them? or could you move her with eggs?

Leaving her eggs may give her the idea but you cant make her go. If you find her on the nest at night thats a good sign she is setting. Most hens will let you move them but some refuse to set after.
