can you over feed them?

How do I know if I am over feeding my chicks? should I take their food away? If it sits there they just eat and eat until they look like they are going to explode. I don't want them to develop Ascites.

if they are full they will stop eating.

no you can't over feed them except with treats... if you feed them too many treats they won't eat their feed. Basically, chicks eat, sleep and poop... just like all other babies. I've never seen or heard of a bird developing ascites from over eating. We leave feed out 24/7 and have never had a prob.

ok, thank you! Just got our Chicks yesterday and i woke up every two hours to checkon them and stared at them most of the day to make sure nothing funny was going on... my husband and I are first timers and I want them ALL to make it. They are the cutest and sweetest babies I have ever seen!
