I know that you can't put chickens or anything that has touched chickens with pheasants but I was wondering about baby guinea hens cause I know they are related to pheasants. I have a blind female pheasant who might be ok at teaching them to scratch for food as she does. Please help if you can.
Thanks
Lori

Everyone has their own idea about mixing pheasants with chickens or other birds. I know generaly it is not an advised thing to do. I can only speak from my own experience, and I am not an expert by any means. I have raised pheasants and other game birds for over 20 years. I currently have over 150 pheasants and a lot of free ranging chickens. I do have an escape from the pheasant pens from time to time and almost always the escapees will join the chickens to scratch and eat. I think this is largely due to the fact that we have over 300 acres and really no where for then to go to get lost. Our bread and butter is in cattle and I know for a fact that there are many folks on this site that are far more knowledgeable about ornamental pheasants than myself, but it has been my experience if pheasants are mixed with other birds in a clean enviroment they will do fine. I don't think you will have a problem mixing your keets with your pheasant hen. Good Luck Amago
