I have 7 out of 12 hatched so far. 3 are black and yellow and 4 are grey/silver and yellow. Could color be an indicator of gender?
Thanks

Depends on the breed, like welsummers, cuckoo marans and some wheaton breeds. What breed do you have?

This is the funny part, we have no idea. The people we got them from had no idea. The only clue I got was that the hens were black, rooster died 2 days before I got eggs and they had no idea what kind he was. The first 2 out look like black australorp pics I've seen and the rest look diluted, silvery grey where the others had black and they have the yellow. I can't post a pic because I misplaced my camera. Thanks for your help, I think they might just be a cross, but I have no idea of what.
