Can you teach me about Barred Rocks?

mmmm........I don't think they're Buff orps..........I read that Orps always have white legs............Mine have orange.......

I have to agree. At least one appears to be a buff orp. The other my be a mix. They are not Rhode Island Red and most definatley not barred rock. Rhode Island Red chicks will be more reddish and should have a band of dark red going down their back. They are cute chickies,anyway.

My wife's two favorite meat birds are the barred rocks and the buff orpingtons. The both produce brown eggs very well, and both are a beautiful birds, the feathering on the buff's make them look very large and does a great job of keeping them warm in colder weather.
