Hey! You can help the novice farmer. I plan to buy chickens, and now I understand how to choose good birds. I look through ad on sites and come across chickens with a big scallop and besides he hangs
Can you tell me a large scallop of the age of chickens?!

I do not think the scallops have anything to do with age. They are different on different breeds. Cold hardy chickens have the smaller styles, (less likely of frostbite) while the heat hardy ones tend to have larger ones,,, to help keep them cool.
