First of all I absolutely love this site and all the helpful information I have been given! I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the white one with black spots might be? I got my chicks at TSC and this one was in with the amber sex links but is clearly NOT like the other one. She is much bigger in size and is really starting to act like a chicken now at 5 weeks old.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I'm looking forward to reading what someone who does know writes about it. The first chick sure does have a bigger comb & wattle.

What does "splash" mean as far as breed? What color egg would she lay....if it is a "she"? I assumed it was a pullet as it was in with all pullets when I bought her/him.

I was also wondering about the other pullet that was labeled an "amber sex link" but is pure white and has no sign to me of being a sex link? She is also a bit smaller than all of my other pullets that I bought at the same time?

depending on its breed my guess would be a white egg. since feed stores and tsc gets their chicks from hatcheries there is a possibility that there are cockerels mixed in as sexing isnt 100% guarantee. the size of the comb and the wattles i see plus thickness of its legs is what leads me to say cockerel

keep an eye on that wyandotte it looks like it may be a cockerel also

in not always correct im human and make mistakes just keep an eye on it ;-)

It's funny that you say that because they are the two that I have grown to love the most! They are both first to come to me when I walk in the room and the Wyandotte will sit in my hand for hours if I let her/him!
