In the Brooder
We just bought a small chipper and it makes great mulch out of our crabapple branches.
But what I am wondering, is if I could mulch a bunch of dry spruce branches to this size as well and use it for bedding in the coop, before it goes to a compost pile?
They still have the needles on them. Would that make a difference?
It would save me buying bales of pine shavings, and would help use up what looks to be an unlimited resource. (Once I drop the two poplars at the back and mix them in.
