I just got this account to see if I can find help I don't even know if this is the place where you ask questions but I have a white silky chicken she is about two months old and I can't find her! She can't really jump high and she is slower then the other chickens. She's been gone for about five hours. I looked everywhere for her and I can't find her. Could she have wondered of and gotten lost? She's been lost once before but I found her behind some fence posts but I checked there and I can't find her. So is it possible that she got lost? I'm really worried about her she's the only one that isn't there. Sometimes she goes across the fence but she comes back once the other chickens do. It's getting pretty late and the other chickens are just about ready to roost.

Silkie hens go broody a lot. She may have found a hiding spot to lay her eggs and finally got enough to sit on. Are there many preditors around your area?

We've got Hawks and snakes all types of snakes. We also have cats but they don't do anything to the chickens. But she's only two months old I thought they had to be six months to lay eggs.

Oh I'm sorry. I missed the part about her being 2 months old. I'd check everywhere you can think of. Under buckets that could've flipped over on her. I had one somehow get under the house. Unfortunately hawks will get them. And snakes if they're small enough.

I've seen about two of her feathers. I should have said earlier but we do live in a trailer house and the bottom is currently opened. Will she get under there and hide for a while? And no blood.

It's possible. Don't give up. If there's no sign of a bunch of feathers nor blood, that's a good thing. I've heard of them flipping buckets over onto themselves. Mine love to go into the woods. But they come back just before dark. Good luck finding her. If I think of anything else that may be helpful I'll post it here.

Haven't seen her and it's already dark out. Maybe tomorrow. Now that I think of it I did see some hawks over our property this morning...
