Canada geese gang brood missing

Is there a park ranger or anyone who works there you might ask?

Mine are molting now My geese usually molt right after breeding season but breeding season started later this year and ended later so they are molting later.

Where I live, New Brunswick, Canada. My hunting waterfowl partner has been a Ducks Ulimited guy for almost 40 years at one time he personally put out 500 duck nesting boxes not that many left. In the spring we clean out boxes and add new wood chips and count the early nesters. Out Of these boxes thousands of ducklings hatch out. Let’s just talk about the Common Golden Eye. When the hens are all bred the males all leave and go north away from the breading grounds. When the chicks hatch they stay with momma until they can fly. As soon as they can fly they leave and travel north to meet up with the males. It is there the adults go into molt in their safe haven. These birds are not seen from July until late October, November.
Pretty amazing stuff

They will generally molt right after breeding season so that the new flight feathers are grown out right before or right at the time that their offspring would begin to fly as well. It is not uncommon for them to relocate or go back and forth between two or three neighboring watering holes at this time so maybe they close by.
