We live in sunny Manitoba. One of the nicest places in the world. We have it all, warm summers, lots of snow in winter, flat land, rolling hills, lakes, good fishing, and the ever present mosquito. But a little bug spray and them hummers leave you alone:D

I'm originally from Northwestern Ontario (Rainy Lake District) and now I'm in Northern Alberta. The one thing I miss about back east is the fall! Oh, the colours! Here things are yellow and brown. Yuck!

hope to see around more often. This site rocks!!!

Hi Ema! I love this site and it has amazing people but its nice to have people in Canada that face the same challenges, like not being able to get chicks from the States without having to drive across the border and try to get the timing right with the hatchery and Postal Service. Not to mention trying to get them back into Canada.

where we live we don't get the gorgeous fall colors that they get in Ontario either, but in the summer it is very green where Alberta is a little drier I think. Love Alberta foothills though!

LOL...I hear you on that one. I got lucky and a local Horse ranch order chicks, chickens, or any sort of fowl any of the locals might want. The sad thing is that they cost more, because they are the only ones that carry them or order them so they can charge more money. But its worth it.

Hi newbie! Love this website. So many people take such beautiful pictures of their birds! And there is so much info here to sift through! Plus I really love their breed index. That is where I found pics of the wyandottes and a breif discription and I was instantly drooling. I think this whole chicken thing is going to be a lot of fun:D
