Canadian Nightcrawlers fishing bait...ok to feed?

I have some left over nightcrawlers from fishing. Are they ok to feed to chickens? I'm assuming they are, but wanted to double check.

Just don't get your fingers in the way or you'll be missing some! I dig nightcrawlers for our turtle and give some to the chicks too, they love 'em.

I'm not sure about your nightcrawlers but regular earthworms can carry parasites.

They can carry paracites, yes. Some countries serve them as meals. They teach you that you can eat them for survival in the wilderness. I personally buy them at our local Fleet Farm and bait shop for the chickens. Watch your fingers and be prepared for them to jump up to get that worm when they realize what you have! Great fun!

I tried to give my chickens the worms (thought a couple wouldn't hurt). Well, they got them out of my hand and then put it on the ground and left it and didn't seem to care for it.

Crazy birds...lol Maybe they only want to find their own worms.
