Hello, everyone!
I hope you are having a wonderful evening (or whatever time you happeen to be reading this). I have a pair of canaries that were a gift from a breeder friend of mine. I believe they were used to breed before. I was told that if I wished them to breed I should get a nesting box for them. As we unfortunatly have limited space and funds, I have not given them a box. Still, they are shredding the paper and bringing the pieces up to their perches. I guess they are trying to make a nest given that it is almost spring. I would rather not have more birds, but I do not want it to cause problems for the female. I had a chicken have problems with her egg laying and died becuase of it so I would rather not have a repeat of that. So if it might be a problem for the female not to lay, I can always find more space or find a new home for the birds.
Thanks so much for your help!!
