Cancer in hen? Warning - graphic photo

It looks like an oviduct cancer. Is that the only picture you took of organs? I am not an authority on necropsies, but am pretty positive that is cancer. If it wasn’t part of the oviduct, it could be from another organ. Hopefully others will chime in with opinions. Very sorry for your loss.

Everything else looked normal so we didn’t take any more pictures. I cut into it and it was very diverse tissue and tore easily.
Sorry for your loss. How old was she? Was she showing any signs of illness prior? Asking to learn

No signs of illness prior to the death - growth was the size of about two grapefruits.

She was 3 years old.
You may get a professional necropsy through your state vet if you have saved the body and refrigerated it. Here is a link for your state vet:

Two grapefruits??? OMG. Sounds like cancer to me. Poor sweetie.

Thank you for this - we froze the body for disposal later but it is good to know if we need it again.
