So we are on day 18 in the incubator and we were candleing them, when we put light on them they have a clear spot at the top of them, we are guessing that that is the air pocket, and the rest of the egg is blacked out. what does that mean and did we do something wrong.

it is like a defined black line from beneath the air pocket to the bottom.

THere are 33 of them all the same.

OK I am wondering about the eggs that I have as stated in the above post that I started out with, Most if not all of my eggs have a black line that goes from right below the air pocket and down the rest of the egg one of the replies says that it could be a chick taking up the whole egg which make sense to me, But here is the question that I have shouldnt I when I candle them see some light and see the chick in them, But here is another thing as I am typing this when I candled them on day 10 there were a few bouncing chicks in there but most of them had that black line around them

I have 4 white polish eggs and 29 brown eggs some are light and medium and some are a little darker that that and i have a really oblong shaped one that I think is infertile but i will wait and see.

Can anyone offer me some insight on this

Thanks to the other poster that answered my question but I am just wondering
