I put a few guinea eggs in the incubator Sunday night. I candled them and I don't see anything. I have three chicken eggs out of six that are showing life. Will the guineas just take longer to see because they have a longer incubation?

Guinea eggs are very hard to candle. Not only are their shells somewhat dark, but they are incredibly thick. If you have ever hatched guineas, you'd know, the shells look kind of like porcelain. When they pip, they don't get a tiny bump in the shell, the shell completely cracks!

I never see much in mine until at least 7 days, and then it is very little, usually just a change in the contents of the egg. But by 10-14 days, you should be able to see the keet in there.
