I see alot of people's candling there eggs. I have such a hard time seeing the things people bring up. I only see the dark shadow and the air cell. How can you see all the other stuff? Do I need to get a different candling tool (have the flash light it gave me when I got the incubator) or should I try different ways?

I guess it depends on your eng-game. Do you want to see "everything" or are you happy to just to see development and some movement of the chick towards the end of incubation?

You could see if your mobile phone gives you better results, but there are other options - Brinsea, for example.

When I do my EE eggs I can't see really anything besides a slightly darken spot in the egg. I basically wanna see the things everyone explains to tell me that I have a healthy chick. I don't usually mess with the eggs towards the end because I don't want to loose the chick. It's really hard for me to draw the out line of the air cell when I do my EE eggs. I can't really tell my chick is growing until I get to the 7th day when the air cell forms in the other eggs. Does that explain it better?

When I have an egg that is hard to visualize, I make a candler out of a: shampoo bottle, some tin foil, a table lamp with a 7W LED bulb. Super dark room. It allows me to see at least well enough so that I can make an educated guess regarding viability of green and oliveish eggs.

If I simply want to enjoy watching the miracle inside the shell, I make sure to set some light colored eggs. Those are my "go to" eggs for my daily candling fix.

With a flash light, fresh batteries are a must.

If you are truly candling addicted, get some white eggs to hatch.

Right now I don't have any white egg layers they are light brown, brown, and green eggs. After I get the hatching bit going then I'll push for some white egg layers.

Candle from the fat end of the egg. You can even use a cut end off a toilet paper roll. Shine the flashlight out through one end and then to the egg. I find it easier having the egg laying on its side on a towel.

It helped us to get a really bright flashlight. Our original one didn't show us much, but a super-bright LED one really helped!
