Okay, so I really wanted Welsummers, so I ordered 6 hatching eggs of that breed. But I am having a hard time telling if they're developing. I finally was able to see one today from egg 16, only because it was moving, and I was just able to see it. I have another Welsummer egg, egg 17, whose air cell is completely detached (moving all over the place), so I have it upright in the incubator right now. Trouble is, I'm not sure it's developing. At least with egg 17, I could kind of see "redness" and confirmed the embryo was alive seeing it move, but this one almost has a yellow look to it (as if clear). But it's hard to tell. Any thoughts? I also have a shipped Light Brahma egg, number 7, who I believe is an early quitter, but I would like to confirm with others.

For comparison, this is my confirmed living Welsummer egg 16

And this is egg 17 who I am not sure about

This is the Light Brahma egg which I believe is an early quitter (I see only 2 veins, one on each side, and a spot which looks like the embryo, not moving. Plus, I would think it would be bigger by now).

Edit: I forgot to mention that today is day 7

What day are the eggs on? Brown eggs can be extremely hard to see into. Not moving might just mean sleeping. 2 veins might be what you see, but That means life. You might not be seeing everything.

I finished candling the other Welsummer eggs. Most are actually doing well, I saw movement in 4/6. 17 is the only one that looks different from the others.
One of my shipped Black Australorp eggs also looks a little off. Am I correct in thinking it looks like a blood ring? Here is a photo of it below:

Okay so I followed my gut about 17 and took it out. Opened it up to confirm, and nothing. No embryo or veins. Looks to have been a bit scrambled perhaps, which would make sense with the detached air cell as well.
