Candwich....

I was thinking they let the bread dry out a bit, and leave out the gluten in the recipie. Like biting into a fake sponge.
 
They put it in there super-dry, so the bread is not all soggy from the condiments. Like spreading mustard on cardboard. By the time you free the sandwich, the liquid has just begun to breakdown the cardboard into a chewable state.
